This is the way you start to make a pinch pot.
The next step is to enlarge the hole in the
clay ball.

This is the way you start a "slab" project.
One way to form a slab pot is to lay the
"pancake" over some shape. Native Americans often formed pots over a
rock.
There are many techniques described for
finishing and decorating the pots you make.
Here is an example of a pot that demonstrates
many surface treatments.
